AMT STAR TREK "GALILEO 7" SHUTTLECRAFT

Original 1974 Issue

This is the original issue of the Star Trek "Galileo" shuttlecraft from the original series. While the parts contained in the box bore little resemblence to the miniature or full sized mock up, this was still one of AMT's favorite offerings in the mid 1970's. Just about every "Trekkie" (That is what they were called back then) had one of these.

As any fan of the series can see, both the exterior and interior of the model contains many inaccuracies. This one is built straight from the box with no modifications, and using the color suggestions on the box art.

The model was reissued in 1991 as a 25th anniversary kit in which only the decals were upgraded.

Round 2 Models has recently announced a new retooled version which is scheduled for release in 2013.
